Does anyone else have the problem when typing in a chatroom or IM all of sudden the typing stops and you have to click in the box to get it going again? Try doing this without PowerTools loaded, its seems to be the AOL adds that is taking the cursor away. But please try it without PT and just AOL, many have said it is still happening. Please let us know. Thank you BPS TBear

I have the same problem of typing in chat room or IM and the typing stops and I have to reposition the cursor in the box. I have loaded AOL w/o PT and I do not have this problem.
Also, I am experiencing keyboard lag when I have PT loaded. Doesn't happen when I load AOL by itself

I can tell you that you aren't using the most stable version of AOL. The version available at Keyword: UPGRADE is the latest release from AOL.
Your release is one that was installed and patched, which could always cause potential problems -- the version that UPGRADE was recoded with the necessary updates so patches weren't necessary.
I'd also suggest disabling some of the programs you have set to load with Windows:
Disable Unnecessary Programs
1. Click on START 2. Click on RUN 3. Type in MSCONFiG and hit Enter 4. Click over to the Startup tab 5. Remove the checkmarks next to the following items, when finished, hit Apply > OK and restart your computer.
DVDSentry MoneyStartUp10.0 MMTray TkBellExe AdaptecDirectCD Share-to-Web AOLDialer [Only leave checked if you use a modem (dial-up) connection] QuickTime Task Pure Networks Port Magic ViewMgr HostManager PowerTools Tray Icon [This is for PowerTools 10 and not necessary]
---- Reminder, hit Apply > OK > Reboot your computer, this will finalize the process.
I also noticed you have WeatherBug installed, this has caused various problems with BPS Software titles, I'd suggest unloading it when using PowerTools to see if you continue to have issues.

I had PT version 10 and read about the cursor disappearing which has been happening to me for a long time. It said that version 11 was supposed to correct that problem, so I went and purchased the 11 version and it's still doing the same thing. On the 10 version I could access and view the PT system. I can't even find it with the version 11.

Like I specified in my post. There is NO Bsp 'group' in my programs list. Just BSP and then when I highlight that, only Power Tools 11 is there. I had it with my version 10 but not with 11.

Try downloading PT 11 again, it sounds like you may be missing some files. You don't have to delete what you have now....when you download and install it will go right over what you have so you won't have many folders of the same program, you should still just have the one file of PT 11. Crystal, I see in your system info that there's a very large number of programs that start automatically with Windows on your system. Most of those programs are unnecessary and may slow your computer down, or cause all sorts of problems. Please follow the instructions in this thread to remove unnecessary startup programs: Disabling Startup ProgramsHere's a list of startup programs from your system info that you can disable safely: ehTray C:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehtray.exe (Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Enables the user to access Windows Messenger from within Media Center. If you don't use this, disable it.) Reminder C:\Windows\Creator\Remind_XP.exe (HP-specific program that reminds users to create System Recovery CDs. If you don't use this, disable it.) IS CfgWiz C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\cfgwiz.exe /GUID (this is the Norton Internet Security configuration wizard, but it's a real resource hog and is unnecessary to the running of the program.) RemoteControl "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PDVDServ.exe" (Only useful if you use a remote control with your computer's DVD drive. Useless otherwise.) IgfxTray C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe (Quick access to the control panel via a System Tray icon for graphics based upon the Intel chipsets. This is not necessary and can be manually started from Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.) HotKeysCmds C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe (Only needed if you wish to have "HotKey" access to Intel's customised graphics properties. This can be disabled from the Display Properties in the Control Panel.) SoundMan SOUNDMAN.EXE (This is the System Tray icon for the Realtek AC97 Audio Sound Manager for AC97 onboard audio. It can be started manually from the Control Panel whenever needed.) AlcWzrd ALCWZRD.EXE (RealTek High Definition audio driver related - detects new devices when plugged in, then pops up a dialog box. If everything works as expected you should be able to disable this one.) Alcmtr ALCMTR.EXE (This is a Realtek program used to gather data about customers, so it's a form of "Sypware" and it defintely not needed.) SunJavaUpdateSched C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe (Checks with Sun's Java updates site to see if newer Java versions are available. Can be run manually from the Java Plug-In Control Panel whenever needed.) RealTray C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exe SYSTEMBOOTHIDEPLAYER (System Tray icon for RealPlayer. If you subsequently start RealPlayer manually it adds itself back to the start-up list. You can stop this from happening by right-clicking on the tray icon and disabling StartCenter via Preferences.) I also see that you are using both Symantec Antivirus and McAfee Antivirus. This could possibly cause problems and I would recommend you try disabling one of them. If you are still experiencing problems after doing all of the above, please post your updated BPS System Information so we can look further into it.

After this cursor thing going on for more than 3 months, I decided since I paid to update to PT 11 just the other night, why not just upgrade from AOL Plus to AOL 9.0 and download the PT 12 version, and be done with the problem. To my dismay, the cursor problem is worse than it was before the upgrades. As I am typing this, I have to keep clicking the mouse to get the cursor back into this box. I hope either PT or AOL fixes this problem soon. Here is my system info after I unchecked the programs from the start up that you suggested. BPS SysInfo Report

I noticed your version of AOL was an older version that received updates (fixes). Your version isn't the most stable build available. It actually includes "AOL Companion" which has been left out of the most recent builds of AOL.
You should visit Keyword: UPGRADE and download the latest version.
