I have had a copy of Watch Right on our family computer for some time.
The serial number is 1687175102.
The registration number is 820983887.
It has been wonderful in that we have 6 children using the computer.
My reason for contacting you is that recently the system has not been picking up all of the IM activity that the kids have been doing.
I downloaded the version 2002.0.77 last month.
The kids now use AIM Triton. I think that is a new version.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Watch Right.
I know that the kids have been “talking” on AIM but when I check later, there is no record of the session.
The enabled service is “Monitor All” for AOL and AIM Screen Names.
Is there something else I need to set up in order to capture all of the IM’ing like we used to be able to do?
Thanks for your help!
Pat Russell

You are missing some components required by WatchRight to operate. Simply reinstall WatchRight this should solve the problem. In addition, I notice you're also using WeatherBug, this program has been known to cause random issues with our programs for months. I'd suggest turning that program off when you wish to use WatchRight's monitoring service. I personally use WeatherWatcher from www.singerscreations.com (which is free) without any problems or conflicts with our software. Let me know if the reinstallation fixed the problem.

I reinstalled with the most current version. I have re-set the program. I have uninstalled the weather program. After re-setting, the program does not even pic up the screen name of the user on my computer. It monitors nothing.
Is AIM that insidious that it can defeat the Watch Right Program?
Is there something else that you can recommend that I do to get Watch Right working?
Thanks - below is my new system information..

What version of AIM are you using? That information didn't appear in the system information report. Launch AIM, click on HELP > About AOL Instant Messenger.
Also, are you using any other AIM Add-on programs (like DeadAIM)? WatchRight can't monitor AIM when another program is logging AIM conversations as well.

Thanks for your replies but still no monitoring at all. I have used Spybot to immunize and get rid of different virus problems - could that be the problem? I' grasping here because I've used SpyBot for a couple of years with no problem. The change seemed to come when the kids started using AOL Triton for their IM'ing. Any other suggestions?? Thanks....Pat

Thanks....Pat Spybot is an excellent program and won't be bothering WR at all. The question I have is are you using any other Spyware Remover. And I do see what may constantly be removing your files is AOL Safetly and Security. You need to have that allow WR. Here are the directions for doing that and please let us also know if you are using any other Spyware Removal Programs. Please let us know if this has corrected your problem. Thanks :-) 1. Open AOL Safety and Security 2. Click on the arrow next to "Spyware Protection" This should display links titled: Allowed Items / Blocked Items 3. Click on "Blocked Items" 4. Locate "WatchRight" in this list, click on the scan date and click on "Restore". -- The next time you run a scan make certain you place "WatchRight" on the Allow button, then select Apply. To confirm this selection, click on the "Allowed Items" link -- WatchRight should be listed. BPS TBear :-)

I am not using any spyware removal program other than SpyBot. Sometimes I'll run Ad-aware but not often.
I can't find AOL Safety & Security in any of the AIM pull downs or tabs. We do not use AOL as an internet service provider so the only AOL that I think is on the computer is the AIM Triton.
Could you please walk me through finding and modifying the AOL Safety & Security? Thank you!
Pat

Thank you! Pat Lets try this, go into your Control Panel of the computer, then click on Add/Remove Programs, see if you find AOL Safety and Security in there, if you see it there click on it to remove it, then it looks like you may have to install WR again as something is deleting your files and I believe this is whats doing it. Let me know if this helps. If this doesn't work, please let me know what Anti-Virus Program you are using. BPS TBear

Cannot seem to find where to put this reply. Please move it to where it belongs. Sorry to say the problem was not resolved in the manner I stated. It reverted back. Final chapter, someone suggested I do a system restore back to a time when the fonts were working OK. I restored back to Feb 28 and everything is REALLY working right now. I set a new restoration point and updated Windows. I am all set now. Thanks

The anti virus program I'm using on the computer is the AVG free edition. When I looked in "Add or Remove Programs" the only thing in there for AOL is the AOL uninstaller and within that is only AIM so I did not remove that. I did note that WR did pick up 3 new IM conversations two days ago and I'm not sure if my kids used IM since then - it's been a little busy around here with all the kids activities! I'll continue to watch that and maybe now WR is picking up the IMing again. I'll let you know. Would it help for me to uninstall and re-install WR again? Thanks for your help. Pat

Pat I know you have Posted your System Info many times already but can you post it again and I will let you know if you need to install it again? Thank you, and keep us posted if it continues to monitor. And by the way, AVG is great so that won't be hurtin WR. :-) BPS TBear :-)
