Make sure you have enabled the PowerIM Window in the PowerTools Options:
1. Click the PT drill icon on the toolbar, then "Customize PowerTools", and then "General Preferences".
2. On the "General Prefs" tab, make sure the "Sen Instant Message Window" option is checked under "PowerTools Enhanced Windows".
If this doesn't solve your problem, please post your BPS system information following these steps:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
2. Click your mouse on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system.
3. Click your mouse on the "BPS SoftWare" program group.
4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely.
5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.)
6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post.
7. Click the "Post Message" button.

If you can launch PowerTools you can also access the BPS System Info utility from the HELP menu.
Give that a shot, then return here to post your systems' information for us.

AOL 9.0 comes with it's own Grouped IMs funcationaility. Can you make certain this option is not enabled. PowerTools cannot enable PowerIM while this function is also enabled.
Go to Keyword: Filtering and Viewing Make certain: Use Grouped IMs to display my IMs is *unchecked* Click on "SAVE" if you made any changes.
Let me know if this solves your problem or not.

Actually, if that didn't solve your problem, complete the following:
[Exit/close PowerTools before you perform these steps]
1. Click the Windows Start button, click Run, and enter: REGEDIT 2. Double click to expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder. 3. Double click to expand Software, then expand BPS SoftWare. 4. Double click to expand PowerTools . 5. With the PowerTools 12 folder highlighted, look for: PowerIM <-- delete that subfolder. PowerIM Options <-- delete that subfolder. PowerIMF2 <-- delete that subfolder. 6. Close the Registry Editor, and restart PowerTools.
-- Did that solve the PowerIM problem?

Hi Carole, I'm having the same problem as "elle" so I thought I'd just go ahead and include my BPS System Info in this post. I was tinkering with MS Speech Recognition earlier today, and then I started having PT problems. I've already disabled Speech Rec, dl'd a fresh copy of PT, re-installed it, (twice) made sure the box is checked to show Enhanced Power IM's, and tried to reset Power IM's many times. When I do that, it keeps telling me there's no IM to refresh, but there is. Also, my IM "command line" (Options, Send, Phrase, Locate, Available) is "un-hooked from the rest of the IM. It's showing up on the other side of the screen! LOL, wild, huh? I'll check back later to see if you've responded to this post. I was still expecting the PT Lounge to be active. LOL, silly me. Anyway, thanks in advance for your help. Chris Make sure you have enabled the PowerIM Window in the PowerTools Options: 1. Click the PT drill icon on the toolbar, then "Customize PowerTools", and then "General Preferences". 2. On the "General Prefs" tab, make sure the "Sen Instant Message Window" option is checked under "PowerTools Enhanced Windows". If this doesn't solve your problem, please post your BPS system information following these steps: 1. Click the Windows "Start" button. 2. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely. 5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.) 6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post. 7. Click the "Post Message" button.

Make sure you can SEE what want to capture on your screen. 2. Press the PRINT SCRN key (next to the F12 key). 3. Open an email form, put your cursor in the body, RIGHT click and click PASTE. 4. When asked if you want to RESIZE, say NO.

For anyone reading this thread: AOL UK made changes to the Send IM window. PowerTools was unable to correctly enhance this window, this has been fixed with the release of PowerTools 12.0.38. Upgrade at www.bpssoft.com. *locking thread*
