IM's shut down

With no notice or indication, my IM's stop working and I am removed from other people's buddy list...as if I was "punted". I have no way of knowing when this happens. I am NOT signed off AOL yet in order to reactivate IM's, I need to sign off and back on. While in this "limbo" state, I am able to enter a chat room, be seen on other people's buddy list and type. Any ideas? I cannot sent you my BPS System Info as when I go to Start/Programs...BPS Software is not listed! I have it in C:\Program Files|PowerTools 12. I get an error message when going to my Help toolbar. "An error occurred while trying to execute the following file: C:|ProgramFiles|PowerTools12\BPSSI1.exe." Seems amazing, considering all this, that I only have the problem once or twice and evening, if that.

Try reinstalling PowerTools to see if you can then run the BPS System Information Utility.

Typically when users complain about the IMs not being able to be sent their Buddy List also flashes off and on. This would indicate a connection problem with AOL (sometimes caused by a firewall set to high). Regardless, there seems to be some issue considering you cannot run the Info Utility.

Please follow these directions to post the BPS System Information Report:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
2. Click on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system.
3. Click on the "BPS SoftWare" program group.
4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely.
5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.)
6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right-click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post.

Thankfully the problem resolved itself with the reinstallation of power tools. Whoever said THIS was the most efficient way of working with customers?? It has been 14 days since my last post with NO reply!!!

Sorry about the delay. I made a three hour move into a new city, started a new job, and had a week's vacation.

I volunteer on this forum, as does everyone else, and we reply when we have time. Unfortunately we do try to scan posts daily, and you can tell from all the other posts that there generally isn't a delay as long as yours. Your post most have been over-looked.
