Using the same version of PowerTools and AOL and I cannot "break" the Spell Checker.
I'll ask the other techs if they are experiencing any problems.

In an earlier post it was asked about the icon on the Power IM window, which looks like a notebad and pen now. I don't really pay much attention to such things in the past, but shouldn't that be the PT icon?

Well, here is another question on the same subject since the problem still exists and it's been several months now with no solution. This is the first time since PT 7 that I've not been satisfied with the support. Is there any hope that this will ever be fixed or am I wasting my time now?

I still cannot duplicate this problem. Nor can any of the other techs I have spoken with.
I've used PowerIM in Float mode (Paper/Pen icon - which allows the PowerIM window to remain on top of every window) or regular mode (PT drill icon) and I cannot, at anytime, get the spell checker to break.
If you've tried to uninstall/reinstall Spell Checker and completely remove its references from your computer (ie: registry data, file directory), then I do not know what could be causing this problem on your PC.
