Does this only happen when you send wav, and are you able to hear the wav or do you just get the error? Do you know what the error is? Does this happen if you have just AOL launched and have PT closed, if you are not sure can you try that for mel. Thanks. Here are the directions on posting the System Info: Please follow these directions to post the BPS System Information Report: 1. Click the Windows "Start" button. 2. Click on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system. 3. Click on the "BPS SoftWare" program group. 4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely. 5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.) 6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right-click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post. BPS TBear :-)

The WavPro Manager uses components of the Windows Media Player to operate. I'd also recommend making certain that your version of Windows is completely up to date.
1. Launch Internet Explorer 2. Click on TOOLS > Select "Windows Update" 3. Download any "Recommended" and "Critical" updates found.

And also please follow Rocky's post and check the updates, as it does have a lot to do with Media Player as he stated. Thanks. The system info will help us a lot to see if we can detect a problem in there. BPS TBear

Can you please see if this same thing happens when you just have AOL running without PT. Your System info, the part with the errors is showing AOL in it, so I want to see if this problem is because caused from PT or something with AOL.....And since wav's use Media Player, please make sure all your Windows updates are up to date, the critical ones that is. Please let us know what happens when you run AOL alone and use your wav's. Thank you.

i'm sorry you don't quite seem to get the point i'm making PT works just fine and it'll play wavs but at any time and for no reason if i have wav pro open or closed and if i play a wav or someone plays a wav i have then PT will close AOL will still keep going but the windows are corrupt until i maximise and minimise them or fiddle a bit , i wont get booted off AOL it'll just crash PT nothing else does it i can use PT and AOL all day but when we start playing wavs it might be an 1 hour it might be 10 mins but PT shuts down , this is a week or so old install of Windows it's as update as it can be , i can play all sorts of music games and anything else you could imagine AOL7 and PT10 never crashed so i can't see it's hardware or drivers and nothing else i do crashes PT , and as for the frankly ridiculous question as to whether PT crashes when i only have AOL running i suggest you read the comments i have posted ...... PowerTools crashes when wavs are played ,,,,, it's not AOL i have the newest Media Player newest AOL newest PT

and as for the frankly ridiculous question as to whether PT crashes when i only have AOL running i suggest you read the comments i have posted ...... PowerTools crashes when wavs are played ,,,,, it's not AOL We didn't miss your point, but you missed ours: We are not asking whether PT crashes when it's not loaded, we are asking whether there is any problem at all using wavs when running AOL alone, without PT. PowerTools is an addon program -- this means it works only through another program (AOL). If there is any problem with that other program, chances are PowerTools will crash, even if the program that originally caused the problem doesn't. Similarly, the playing of Wavs is done through Windows Media Player -- if there is any problem with Windows Media Player, the program might crash. Most times, when PT crashes, the problem is caused by other programs or settings on your computer. If this wasn't the case, every single PT user would be reporting the very same problem (in which case, it would be a bug that we could fix through a program update.) Since no other PT users is reporting having the problem you are experiencing, this is most likely a problem related to your system/AOL/programs/or settings. We need to investigate in order to find out what exactly on your system could possibly be causing this problem. If you don't answer our questions and follow the steps we give you, then we cannot even try to help you. Contrary to popular belief, installing Windows doesn't mean you automatically have all the latest Windows updates, unless you actually ran Windows Update and downloaded/installed all available updates. Actually, I see in your system information that you have several outdated runtime system files, so your system is not up-to-date as can be. So let's start with this: - Please try to use AOL and play wavs within it without PowerTools for as long as it would normally take for the Wav problem to occur. Let us know your results.
- Please run Windows Update and at least download/install all "Recommended" and "Critical" updates.
- Try wavs in PowerTools again after you have installed all the Windows updates and restarted your system.
- If you are still experiencing problems, please tell us exactly which version/revision of Windows Media Player is currently installed on your system.
Thanks.
