Everytime i use powertools my IMS stop working, i can send but am unable to receive them, i have had this problem for a while so stopped using powertools.

What happens when someone tries to send you an IM? Do they receive any error message? Make sure you haven't added their names to your Ignore list (PowerIM Preferences > "AIM Ignore" and "Ignored Members".)
Also, make sure you haven't blocked your IMs: Click the IMs menu in the PowerTools status bar at the bottom of the screen (it looks like a tape) and make sure the options "Block Instant Messages" and "Block AIM Instant Messages" are NOT checked, and that your PT Answering Machine is turned off on the same menu.
If this does not solve your problem, please post your BPS System Information following these steps:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
2. Click your mouse on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system.
3. Click your mouse on the "BPS SoftWare" program group.
4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely.
5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.)
6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post.
7. Click the "Post Message" button.

Ok i have checked all privacy settings etc and alls fine, when people send IMs it goes thru, but i dont get them at my side.

When people send you IMs do you hear the IM sound?
Follow these directions and let me know if that makes any difference:
[Exit PowerTools]
1. Click on START > Point to RUN > Type in regedit, hit Enter.
2. Double click on the following folders:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
BPS SoftWare
PowerTools 12
3. Right-click on each of the folders below and select Delete.

No i dont hear anything ..nothing comes thru and when i send IMs in stops my aol working and i have to restart.
I have done what you said and it makes no difference, as soon as i loaded Powertools aol stopped working.

Could you try a test and let me know what happens:
1. Open a Send Instant Message window (CTRL+i together)
2. Type your screen name in, type a message, and hit Enter
3. Click on "Window" from the top of your monitor, you should see the name of every window open at the bottom of this menu (like the Buddy List), is PowerIM listed here?
If not, what Windows *are* listed?
