Could you please post your system information following these steps:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
2. Click your mouse on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system.
3. Click your mouse on the "BPS SoftWare" program group.
4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely.
5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.)
6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right-click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post.
Thanks.

cokelover4sure, Running Programs (54 total): [System Process] MWSOEMON.EXE Startup Programs MyWebSearch Email Plugin Startup Group You have the MyWebSearch plugin installed on your system, which is a spyware program known to cause trouble with the proper functioning of other programs. You can uninstall MyWeSearch from the Windows Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs". Once uninstalled, please reboot your system. To both cokelover4sure and Tim, I would also advise that you download and install Ad-Aware SE Personal, which is an excellent free antispyware program. Once installed, update the Ad-Aware database to the latest version, and then run a full scan. You also have a very large number of programs running automatically at Windows startup. Many of those programs are unnecessary and may be causing problems. Please follow the steps in this thread to remove unnecessary startup programs. If you are still experiencing problems after following these steps, please post your updated system information.

TIM ---
From your System Information Report I can see that you have a large number of unnecessary programs loading with Windows. This may or may not be causing problems with PowerTools, but also drains your system of valuable performance.
I'd suggest disabling the items that aren't needed and see if the problem continues. If you are still having issues getting PowerTools to load, please reply with the exact error message you're receiving (or please let me know which part of the loading process PowerTools stalls at).
Disable Unnecessary Programs
1. Click on START 2. Click on RUN 3. Type in MSCONFiG and hit Enter 4. Click over to the Startup tab 5. Remove the checkmarks next to the following items, when finished, hit Apply > OK and restart your computer.
SunJavaUpdateSched TkBellExe iTunesHelper ISUSPM ISUSScheduler QuickTime Task AOLDialer [Do not disable if you use a dial-up (modem) connection] Pure Networks Port Magic dvd43 MMTray MimBoot CXMon Share-to-Web Namespace Daemon KernelFaultCheck AlcxMonitor HostManager

I just now started having this same problem--simply because I upgraded from 9.0 Optimized to 9.0 SE.
Nothing else about my system changed other than using the newer build of AOL.

I just now started having this same problem--simply because I upgraded from 9.0 Optimized to 9.0 SE. Nothing else about my system changed other than using the newer build of AOL. On AOL visit Keyword: Filtering and Viewing SettingsOnce here, uncheck "Use Grouped IMs to display my IMs" and click on OK. Does that solve your PowerIM problem? If not, what happens when you receive an Instant Message?

When I do that, and then go to send an IM, I get a message window that says "Enabling Power IM Features" which then opens that Filter Setting window and turns off the Group IM setting.
I have no problem receiving IM's. Whenever anyone sneds me one, it opens normally without problems.

Added info: The problem does not seem to be with PT but with AOL. I tried using AOLwithout loading PT and the Send IM window still won't open properly.

FYI AOL fixed the problem. Apparently it has something to do with the artwork database. Clearing and restoring it seems to have fixed the IM window problem
