I'm using AOL 9.0 Optimized and PT 12. I've noticed forever that my chat room line length seems to be limited, no matter how large the room is set. It makes my chat move the room too fast if I have more than a couple short sentences to say. There was a place to adjust that line length in a past version of PT. Is there a way to do it in PT12 or in the PT .ini file? Thanks.
Oh, someone said not enough people were buying PT? Is that why they shut down? Why wasn't it advertized more? I'm certain people who are addicted to chat would be interested. There is too much it can do for them. I'll especially miss the automatic logging and the nicknames next to the names in the people list in the room. THATs a big one, since my memory is fading. LOL. I too have been using PT since the very first version. I used it my entire guiding career. In fact, a sweet guide told me about PT and helped me with it until I became the pro, LOL. I'll really miss it when it stops working, which isn't going to happen HERE until AOL retires 9.0. This puter still does just fine for me, so I don't have to upgrade anything, LOL.

Unfortunately, the option to edit the length of a sentence before sending to the AOL chat was removed. When AOL increased the limitation to something larger this option was no longer needed and removed. Enlarging the chat send line and disabling faded texts are really the only way for the user to have any control over that now.
It is true that the sales for PowerTools were dwindling.. since AOL incorporated most of the features (tabbed IMs, buddy nicknames, etc..) people didn't feel the need for the extra bloat. Other unexpected things came up in the programmers RL which didn't leave a lot of time to work on updates and such so the decision was made to close BPS.

:blink blink: ^52you for being such a loyal customer to BPS Software over the years.
You should recognize that.. from one ex-guide (and.. ex-host local, ex-Ranger, ex-host help, ex bps tech) to another. <evil grin>

Thanks Jeromy, I actually finally figured it out right after I posted this! LOL. It was my fading chat colors that were limiting me. When I change it to a solid color, I have all the line length I need. It's nice to know we have a couple of things in common. I was a Ranger too I'd think we would have known each other but I don't remember anyone with your first name. If La Muffin rings a bell, then we know each other. I miss the old times. Thanks for your ever-so-prompt and courteous replies on this board. I hope you're here as long as I keep coming up with stupid questions LMAO! I'm kidding. Have a great year!! Barb

Barb,
Yep, the faded text includes a lot of hidden html which eats up the amount of characters one is allowed to use per line in the chat room. It's a pitty too, I like the pretty colors.
