AOL apparently just downloaded new software which basically makes my chatroom features null and void. Not only can I not permanently ignore anyone, adjust fonts, etc. but I also see a giant ad on the right hand side of the screen that effectively limits my chat space to 1/3 of a screen.
I have AOL 8.0 and can't even remember what version of PTs I have. Is there any way around this? Or do I have to upgrade?

Same here. No enhanced buddy list or right click functions work. 8.0. I'm afraid that 8.0 isn't being maintained by BPS any more. It's been stable for a year or so, so I've been expecting something like this to occur.
Can't offer any help, though. It's up to Brad whether he wants to update 8.0. I notice I can't get to the 8.0 download site either.

I have Power Tools 10 installed; that's the one I can't get to the download site.
I've held off going to Power Tools 12 and AOL 9.0 as I like the design of Power Places in 10.0 better than in 12.0.

PowerTools 11 is compatible with AOL 8.0 PLUS.
However, AOL made changes to the AOL Welcome window which prevent PowerTools from doing two things on this version:
1) PT does not recognize which screen name you're currently signed on, so it won't show the name on the status bar
2) The mailbox icon may or may not update as new mail arrives.

everthing seems to work with version 12 and aol 9...but aol has really done a rotten number on those without any ad killers. the chat room is now half it's size and there is a BIG ad on the right. pretty soon there won't be a chat room..and pretty soon there won't be an aol.

I am really sorry to hear this. Power Places is a killer application for me; I have 5000+ places catalogued. It's a such a great function; I can see eventually AOL making so many changes the Power Tools 10, 11, and 12 will cease to function.
I'm puzzled as to why this is and why nobody is picking it up.

Actually, that site links to information on how to contact IPG. As many of you know, IPG was the company hired to handle and maintain all registration issues. Since we aren't paying them anymore, they will no longer be looking up registration numbers. If you need a registration number, please start a new thread and list your current program and master screen name. We'll do our best to very your purchase history and get a working number to you.

Ok, so basically what is being said, is that those of us with AOL 8.0(not 8.0 Plus) and PT 10 are out of luck when it comes to chatroom features?? I can't speak for everyone, but that is why I purchased this program 5 years ago. I have thought about upgrading both, but I do not have the memory capacity for that.

No future updates and registrations are allowed. I'm sorry, this wasn't my decision, actually, I had no knowledge about it -- and nothing can be done now. I'm solely operating now as a volunteer past-tech with BPS Software because the company has completely closed.
