HI...Im using powertools 12 with Aol 9.0. Only the past few days whenever I use the powertools feature to get in the chat it kicks me offline. The error message is..you have been signed off for changing chat rooms to quickly...please see keyword rate info (or something similar) for information. I understand what the error message means...however I am not entering from another chat room and I can't even get in one using this feature...is there a way to slow the bust a room thing so I don't get booted or anything? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

no one from powertools knows a solution to this? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I used to regularly encounter the dreaded rate limiting snafu, which was a serious problem because my regular chat room is packed to the gills in the evenings.
But quite by accident, I found a solution that has worked for me for at least a month. I simply close the buddy list window *before* starting the PowerTools Get In feature.

Heather, I've tried testing the Get-In feature with PowerTools and every attempt has been successful. I haven't gotten the "rate limit" message from AOL yet. How do you connect to AOL? Also, could you email me the location (and link) to the chat room you're trying to enter? email: BPSRocky@aol.com --- I believe certain highly visited rooms have a different rate in which it gets flagged as rate limited. Let me know.

I have gotten this message for a long time and this is what I do. I let it try to get in about 7-10 times, then I press ESC to stop it. Then, I click on it to start up again - and it eventually gets me in the room.
It is NOT the solution, granted, because I have to press ESC every 10 or so attempts it makes to get in the room, but at least it doesn't log me off.
I connect via DSL. I would say this has been happening to me for about a year, now.
