I wish I could help but I have another question pertaining to the Auto Greeter/Auto Welcome in chatrooms. I have set up certain phrases for my greetings (like the room purpose) and yet when I turn on the auto greeter and select the welcome phrase group I am only getting "hi {%n}" instead of what I selected. I have AOL 9.0 and Powertools 12
Thanks to anyone who knows what is going on here.
Sarah

my auto greeter gets "An error occurred while trying to retrieve your welcome phrases". My welcome phrases are all good While in a chat room, click on the "Welcome" button and choose "Select Welcome Phrase Group". Click on the folder that houses your Welcomes (note: I created a seperate folder for this, titled Welcomes -- otherwise you'll experience the issue the next user has). Does this solve your problem?

I wish I could help but I have another question pertaining to the Auto Greeter/Auto Welcome in chatrooms. I have set up certain phrases for my greetings (like the room purpose) and yet when I turn on the auto greeter and select the welcome phrase group I am only getting "hi {%n}" instead of what I selected. I have AOL 9.0 and Powertools 12 Sarah, normally we recommend that you start your own, fresh thread. It isn't fair to the original author of this post to sort through conversations necessary for you and I to solve your issue. However since your reply to the problem you've mentioned above might help the original author, I am just going to post the reply here: Your problem is the phrase group you've selected has macos that do NOT contain the variable: {%} Each macro, in order to be used with the welcomer *must* have the screen name variable. Like I suggested above, in the Custom Phrase Editor, I created a folder named "Welcomes". Here I created a number of welcome macros: {%}, Welcome to {ROOM} Hello {%}! Have a seat! If along with those macros I added: Hello, Happy Holidays! PowerTools would revert to the generic: hi {%} for everyone entering the room. Just make certain each macro has the screen name variable {%} in the phrase.
