Powerchat Names List

I have a fresh install of Powertools 12 on Windows XP Pro. Many of the chatroom members names now have additional characters trailing them. I am unable to IM, or link to their Profile page now with these mystery characters.

These are the typical reasons for seeing extra data like that:

1) line-noise from your internet provider
2) outdated video card driver
3) lack of system maintenance done

What happens when you click on the "People Here" tab on the chat room to refresh the member list?

Have you completed a system maintenance (disable unnecessary programs from loading with Windows, Deleted unnecessary Temp files, and ran Scandisk/Defrag) on your computer within the past month?

What happens when you click on the "People Here" tab on the chat room to refresh the member list?


Refreshing the names list didnt change the problem.

I had my high speed internet provider (cable) check for excessive line noise, they found none.

My video card drivers are updated.

I run automated system maintenance 24/7 on my system, to include always-on defrag, CCleaner disk cleanup, Registry optimization and cleanup.

All start-up processes are running because I want them running. I remove unnecessary ones.

I removed Powertools 12 from add-remove, deleted the leftover PT12 Directory from Program files. Gutted all traces of PT12 from Windows Registry and rebooted.

Reinstalled PT12 and the problem has seemed to go away.
