When I am in a chat room the window self-minimizes and I click the + button to maximize. It responds (sometimes) and then a few moments later it will revert back to the smaller window, which fails to show a tool bar at the bottom for selecting smiles, schemes, waves, etc. This started happening on Oct. 5,2006. Has AOL changed chat rooms again? How can I eliminate this annoying problem? I am using P/T 12.0 with AOL 9.0 Security Edition & Windows XP

Have you tried resizing the window to the size you want, then click on Window (from the top of your monitor) > Select "Remember Window Size and Position" ?

Yes, I have tried "Remember Window Size and Position" and I have also selected "Automatically Remember Window Size" in the Power Tools General Preferences. It did not help.

Does the chat room window open minimized with regular AOL (without PowerTools loaded)?
Try this to Reset PowerChat:
[Exit/close PowerTools before you perform these steps]
1. Click the Windows Start button, click Run, and enter: REGEDIT 2. Double click to expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder. 3. Double click to expand Software, then expand BPS SoftWare. 4. Double click to expand PowerTools 12. 5. With the PowerTools folder highlighted, look for: RichChat Window <-- delete that subfolder. 6. Close the Registry Editor, and restart PowerTools.
