how do I retain the "Member's list box color" on the chatroom member's list if one has to reload their PT. Everytime I reload my PT I have to start over with Member's list box color (and this is not the font people type in) this is what color they are on the chatroom list. I'm wondering what file that is retained in so I can copy that file over when I re-install PT...

The information is stored in the registry. You can export this information and transfer it to a new computer to import later. I know the location of this information seems incorrect, but trust me, it is data for the PowerChat Member Listbox colors.
1. Click the Windows Start button, click Run, and enter: REGEDIT 2. Double click to expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder. 3. Double click to expand Software, then expand BPS SoftWare. 4. Double click to expand PowerTools . 5. With the PowerTools folder highlighted, right-click on: Buddy List Colors , select "Export" 6. Save the file: Buddy List Colors.REG onto your Desktop
To import, simply transfer the file Buddy List Colors.REG to your other computer and double click on the REG file. When prompted, click on YES to import the data into the Windows Registry.

Rocky I really do appreciate your help, but I wasn't referring to buddylist colors. I meant the members chat list colors in a chatroom. When in a chatroom you can change the colors of the members name on the Who's chatting list, thats the one that I lose when I have to reload PT, not the buddylist.

Have you tried Rocky's steps? Quoting what he specified in his post above: "I know the location of this information seems incorrect, but trust me, it is data for the PowerChat Member Listbox colors."

The steps I gave you were for the chat room, why the programmer named that "buddylist colors" is beyond me. Its even more ironic because PowerTools 12 doesn't support buddy list coloring. Maybe I should ask about that. <g>

No worries. You should have seen how long it took me to find where this information was stored about a year ago when someone else asked how to back up that data.
