IM Frame, AIM and a proxy server

I am interested to know if there are any issues with using AIM and IM Frame in conjunction with a proxy server (SOCKS 4).

I have been unable to sign in when AIM is configured to go through a proxy server.

There aren't any issues that I am aware of. Can you connect to AIM through proxy without IM Frame launched?
