After the first message is received when multiple tabs are open, tabs do not flash with each new IM that comes in.
I have no idea when a new IM comes in other than the sounds and have to click through every tab to figure out who IMd me.
How would I fix this? The flash on new IM options are set in both IMFrame and AIM.

You are using an outdated version of IM Frame. The latest version is 2.6.87. Please download and install the latest version over your current one -- this should fix the problem. If you are still experiencing problems after upgrading IM Frame, please make sure that you are not using an outdated version of AIM too. The latest AIM version is 5.9.3861, and can be downloaded here.

Tabs are still not flashing even after upgrade. They only flash after clicking "reset IMFrame IMs".
Please advise.
Thanks

Thanks for your feedback and updated system info. Did you also upgrade to the latest version of AIM? If not, which version/revision are you currently using? Also, after you click on "Reset IM Frame IMs", does it work consistently until you close and restart the program? Or only until you receive an IM from a new user? Or did you mean that you have to reset them for every IM, both on new and existing tabs? I haven't been able to duplicate this problem so far. The only thing I can think of is that another program running in the background (possibly some spyware) is preventing IM Frame from consistently "grabbing" new IMs. There are a few files in your running programs list which are known to be either legitimate programs, or virus/spyware -- if the latter, they could interfere with AIM and IM Frame's functioning. Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend you try updating you antivirus program and run a full scan, then follow the steps in this thread to deal with possible spyware/malware.

Carole -
This problem persists... I have looked run a full spyware/AV scan with no result. I shut down every program running other than IMFrame and restarted AIM and IMFrame and have the same problem. As soon as an IM comes in, the only way I know is by the sound.
I did in fact upgrade AIM (to the version right before Triton).
I absolutely need to get this solved. Any ideas?

One thing I need clarify is that the tabs receiving new IMs are not supposed to actually flash -- they just turn red and display a tooltip when a new IM arrives AND that this particular tab is not currently selected (i.e. when another tab is the active tab.) If you don't have any other IMs open and that this is the "problem" you're referring to, you could simply click on the "New IM" tab to get the visual notification when a new IM arrives on the other non-active tab. Also, if this isn't the problem, I'm wondering if some other IM Frame options may affect the new IM tab highlighting feature. Could you please try to set your IM Frame options as follows (this is the way I have my own options set at the moment) : - Minimize to Taskbar: Checked. - Flash Tray icon when new IMs are received: Checked. - Flash IM Frame Caption when new IMs are received: Checked. - Bring IM Frame to front when new IMs arrive: Checked. - Attach to right side: Checked. - Hide Large Buddy List Banner Ad: Checked. - Hide Small Buddy List Banner Ad: Checked. Hope this helps

Was this issue ever resolved? I am having similar issues on my network using the latest versions of both AIM (5.9.3861 - non-Triton version) and AIM Frame (2.6.87) on freshly built and slightly older machines. Are there certain ports that need to be open on our firewall? It's happening intermittently but consistently.
Thanks, Scott

Was this issue ever resolved? Since the original poster didn't post back to let us know, I'll assume that when they read my last reply (just above yours,) which clarified the way this feature is supposed to work, they realized there wasn't really a problem -- only a misunderstanding. The tabs are not supposed to turn red or give any notification when a new IM arrives, unless this particular tab is not currently selected (i.e. when another tab is active.) If there's only 1 IM conversation and that the "New IM" tab is not selected, there won't be any notification. Is this what you're referring to?

Hello, and thanks for the reply. I'm referring to our users who may have 5-6 IMs open and if they receive a message in the background the window does not flash or turn red, sometimes. If their machines are located in our dmz or outside the network things seem to work better than if they are inside the network. Could an antivirus or antispyware program be blocking or removing a vital part of the program? Could there be a need for a port on the firewall to be opened to the inside, or to the outside (we filter for both)?

Actually the problem was never resolved. Hi, I'm Brad's assistant, Logan. We never resolved the issue with that machine, instead we upgraded to a new machine and reinstalled everything. This worked fine... untill today. No settings have been changed, and the issue has reappeared. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

If it worked fine at first and then stopped working all of a sudden, it is likely that another program or background process is affecting the proper functioning of this feature.
Could you please post your system information for the new machine IM Frame is installed on following these steps:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
2. Click on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system.
3. Click on the "BPS SoftWare" program group.
4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely.
5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.)
6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right-click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post.
