Watch Right not logging all users' IMs

I spoke too soon. WR will log my own activity when I test AIM myself, but it is not logging IMs or chat by other users. The other users' screen names are listed in the WR access panel and monitoring services are enabled. The other user signs on to a different Windows XP user account but I know that shouldn't make a difference. System info is below. Can you help?

When they are on a different name on the internet are they switching names on XP? Or are they staying on the same name? If not, have them try switching to their own name on XP and see if that will help with the logging problem you are having. Please let us know what happens.

I'm not sure I follow. My son has his own user account on XP. I don't have the password to that user account. WR works fine when I am logged in to my own XP user account and test it by sending an IM to a robot using my own AIM screen name. It is not, however, logging IMs he is sending and receiving while logged in to his own XP user account and using his AIM screen name. I don't want him to have access to my XP user account. Any ideas?

There are a couple of things to note when using Windows XP with multiple user names:

1. If you are using WindowsXP or Win2000, install the software on the adminstrator account (the main log in) for that computer, and access the logs from the administrator account as well.

2. If your children have different "user accounts," they will all be logged, but to switch from one account to another, everyone needs to use the "Log Off" feature, not the "Switch" feature ('When you click the Start button, at the bottom you see "Log off <name>." If you click that, you have a Switch Option and a Log Off option. Use the Log Off option.)

Are you making sure when you check all logs they are only being checked in the Administrator of the computers account, which I am going to assume is you. The program would have had to be downloaded under the administrator of the computers name and you will need to be logged in on that name to be able to read the logs, so do the same thing, log off, go to the administrators name and check the logs, is this was is being done, because I see some of the errors on the system say Acess Denied so I am just wondering? Please let us know.

Yes - I installed the software on my account, which is an administator's account. I also opened and read it on my administrator's account. I am logging off and turning off the machine when I am done - we do not use the switch user function. Still, it has not logged any messages since Jan. 4, even though users have been sending IMs since then.

Please note that because we had problems with a number of the XP user accounts, Microsoft recommended that we change them to administrator accounts to address those problems.

Lets reset WatchRight.
You will lose any saved logs, so if you need them, you may want to print anything currently available.

1. Click on START > (All) Programs > BPS Software > WatchRight.
2. Type in your password or registration number to open the Access Panel.
3. Click on "Option" and select "Reset WatchRight".
4. Make sure "Enable WatchRight Monitoring Services" is selected.
5. Exit WatchRight
6. Restart your computer.

If you still have logging issues, please let me know.
Also, when you post -- let me know if logging is enabled or not.
According to your last post wrexec.exe (the main logging component of WatchRight) was not listed as a running process.
This only happens for two reasons:
(1) WatchRight is disabled
(2) An anti-spyware program has falsely identified WatchRight as Spyware and disabled it.
