You seem to have an incomplete installation of the program (missing runtime files.)

I see in your system information that you are using Microsofts AntiSpyware. This program is highly inaccurate and has likely deleted some system files that are necessary to run Watch Right properly (our programs do not contain any spyware.)

You may want to disable "real-time" protection within the MS AntiSpyware program. You can disable it by clicking on Options > Settings > Real Time Protection. Uncheck the first two options and click on Save.

Next, you should run a complete scan on your system, then remove any spyware found. Reinstall just Watch Right, then run another complete scan with MS AntiSpyware. Allow it to "Always Ignore" any new items found during this second scan.

Thanks, I adjusted MS Spyware and ran a sweep but when I tried to download Watch Right again I received this error message: The file 'C:\Program Files\Watch Right\UNWISE.EXE' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. Access is denied. It will not let me install or uninstall. Help! Thanks

Have you tried installing a new copy of Watch Right directly over the currently installed version, without trying to uninstall the old one first?

The file "unwise.exe" is used to uninstall the program -- it shouldn't be necessary to uninstall the current copy before reinstalling. Since some files are missing from the original installation, trying to uninstall it will likely generate error messages.

Yes I tried this and I get the same error message. Is there a way to manually delete Watch Right and start over from scratch? It is not in my control panel add/remove program list. Thanks

You can delete the WatchRight folder from C:\Program Files\
this folder doesn't contain your saved logs or your registration number --- those are stored elsewhere.

After you delete the WatchRight folder you can reinstall the software. Note: You won't be able to delete the WatchRight folder if it is currently running, you may however be able to rename the folder from WatchRight to "WatchRightOLD" then reinstall.

I tried to delete it this way but I received an error message: Cannot delete Mscomctl.ocx: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protectd and that the file is not currently in use. Can you explain about re-naming the file? Thanks

Matt, try this:

Navigate to C:\Program Files\WatchRight. Locate the "Unwise.exe" file, and delete just that.

Now can you reinstall WatchRight without any problems?

I tried to locate this file and it does not exist on my computer. I checked the Watch Right program directory and did a complete search of my computer as well. I'm stumped??

I figured that might happen. Are you able to open the WR Clock at all and open the Access Panel (START > All Programs > BPS Software > WatchRight > Type in your password > hit enter)?

If so, disable WatchRight, then restart your computer.
You should be able to delete the WatchRight folder or at the very least rename it.

Every time I try to sign in it will prompt me to create and confirm a new password. I enter the same password every time. I can then get in but it states that I have to signed in as an admin in order to make monitoring changes. It will not allow me to disable. I also have no access to the help file either. What also is peculiar is it is still capturing the AIM sessions but it will not allow you to view the content. This is very strange. Thanks again.

A couple of things to note about WatchRight:

1. If you are using WindowsXP or Win2000, install the software on the adminstrator account (the main log in) for that computer, and access the logs from the administrator account as well.

2. If your children have different "user accounts," they will all be logged, but to switch from one account to another, everyone needs to use the "Log Off" feature, not the "Switch" feature ('When you click the Start button, at the bottom you see "Log off <name>." If you click that, you have a Switch Option and a Log Off option. Use the Log Off option.)

This is and on going problem. [e-mail]. Still cannot get watchright to work anymore. we purchased it in Oct It recorded aims and ims from Oct 23rd to Nov 23 after that day it stooped we sent all computer info twice but still no reply .please advise. we really need to get this to work. Mr Cooper
