I have been very pleased with Watch Right & have gotten several parents interested in it but about 2 weeks ago it stopped working. It would not log any more AIM chats. It still monitors web sights but seems to have stopped monitoring the chats. I am not sure why & have become disappointed in your product. It suited my needs fine when it worked & I would just like it to work again. Thank you for your help.

The file MWSOEMON.EXE listed in your running tasks is a program named "MyWebSearch". It is a malware.

The file avserve2.exe listed in your startup programs is a virus added by the Sasser.B or Sasser.C worm.

These files are very likely the cause of Watch Right's sudden and recent malfunctioning, and they need to be removed.

Please download and install Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition, which is a free adware/spyware removal tool. Click here to download it. Once installed, make sure to update the database before running a full scan. Remove everything recommended by Ad-Aware.

In addition, please download and install SpyBot Search & Destroy, which is also a free adware/spyware removal too. It is a little more difficult to use than Ad-Aware, but may be able to remove additional malware. Click here to download it. Once installed, make sure to update the database before running a full scan. Review the list found by Spybot and remove anything suspicious.

Please update your antivirus program and run a full scan.

Symantec also has a dedicated removal tool for the Sasser worm, which you can download here from their site (same tool for both Sasser.B and .C variants.) Make sure to follow all the steps on the Symantec site for proper removal of the virus.

Make certain you're using the latest version of WatchRight and AIM. You can check the program versions by opening the programs and clicking on Help and selecting "About WatchRight", or "About AOL Instant Messenger".
