I am still running PT version 10.0.39 and AOL 7.0. Never had problems till this morning when PT wouldn't load. It stalls before it even gets to the screen. I have tried re-installing it and still can't get it to fully load. HELP!!! Don't know what I can do next. I can't live without my PT.
thanks, Kathy

Kathy,
Could you please post the BPS System Information Utility?
Click on START > Point to (All) Programs > BPS Software > BPS System Info. (As an alternative method you might need to navigate to C:\Program Files\PowerTools 10 and double-click on the following program: BPSSysi1.exe) Once this utility loads, and all fields fill with text, click on the 'Copy to Clipboard' button (you won't see or hear anything happen). Return to the message board, right-click > Select 'Paste'.

Suddenly my pt12 that I've been using for years stopped working & I had to use my number each time I used aol now. Then it said my evaluation days were over. Just grand. Came here & read the post & reinstalled pt 12. It asked for the registration or serial number--I kept the one number-don't have a clue where the other is-put that number in but apparently it's not the one pt12 is looking for. After 10 minutes of sitting here, realized it wasn't going to do anything so shut it off. Tried again, it said restart. Did that, same thing happened. What do I do now? I can send privately to BPS the number I have so they can see I'm registered--I actually have 2 registered versions-but this is the main one I've been using for years-could someone please help-really lost w/o my powertools! Thanks in advance! gina

gina,
It doesn't matter if you post the number you're using here or not.
I don't have access to the registration information.
However, I can email the programmer of PowerTools and get a working registration for you.
I would need to know your Master Screen Name and the version of PowerTools you are using.
If you have needed to enter your registration number more than once it's possible your screen name file that PowerTools reads is corrupted. Visit Keyword: NAMES on AOL to update and recreate that file.

Hi Jeremy,
Sorry but I lost my link to get back to this site all this time! Ok the registration number I have is 98647920. The aol master screen name is Sassydevil. I clicked on my shortcut on the desktop-it says pt version 12...I don't want to chance trying to restore it again because last time it messed up my entire computer so I'm not sure exactly which version after that-12. what exactly to be honest. I've been going NUTS w/o my powertools all this time! Can you help please? Sincerely, gina

Jeremy--forgot to include that it lets me put the number in but that's it. Then it stops & freezes. Sometimes it lets me load the entire number, sometimes none of it, sometimes all of it. But if it does let me put the entire number in, the countdown keeps going til 0 then says my trial time has expired and I can't use Power Tools anymore. gina

Hi there
I went back to AOL 8.0, but when I attempt to load PT 10 it says Main Executable has encountered a problem and then it closes down. I have Uninstalled and Re installed but continue to get the same error. I also have lost my reg # for 10.0 which at the moment is academic. Any idea what's going on???
Thanks
John

It's difficult for me to follow this thread... John are the person that started this post (Gina)?
Also, when you say: "I went back to AOL 8.0", were you always using PowerTools 10, or did you downgrade from PowerTools 11/12?
I can also get a registration number for you. I'll just need to know the Master Screen you used at the time you purchased PowerTools 10. (NOTE: If you are not using that same AOL account now please provide the OLD and NEW Master Screen Names.)
Thanks.

Thanks. Hi Jeromy, I don't know who John is-but he had version 10 pt--I had 12. I sent my screen name--Sassydevil--and didn't realize that since it wasn't the master maybe that was the problem w/getting a new pt number, after reading your reply to John. My MASTER is Bellarosie on aol. If there is ANY way you can speak to the owner of PT and I can finally get a working reg number I'd be TRULY GREATFUL. It's been so long w/o pt that it really feels like I've got to go to a funeral but am refusing to admit it. PT was the BEST invention EVER. Thank you in advance for any help you can give. Sincerely, gina

Gina,
The owner of BPS Software has stepped away from this project and is no longer offering the ability to research past registration data.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Good luck.

Jeromy, you mean that Brad doesn't work on PTs anymore? I'm so sorry to hear that. I too missed my PTs, but after all these years I have gotten used to not having them. But then again, I seldom use AOL anymore, or go into chat rooms. Is Joanie of no help with PTs anymore? Chris

Chris, Unfortunately, everyone has moved away from BPS Software, including Joanie.
