AOL sounds not working read below

AOL sounds not working when using power tools. AOL sounds works when power tools is not loaded. something wrong with power tools 12.0.39 please help i tried installing AOL many times thinking it was AOL even asked tech support for AOL and nothing when i loaded AOL normally without power tools and sent my self mail the sound worked but when power tools is loaded sounds don't work only buddy icons sounds work and buddy signing on and signing off sounds but no you got mail sound or any of that features please help me thanks

Some users claim that if they select to "Auto Close" the Welcome window they lose the ability to hear the exact same wavs you've mentioned. I can't duplicate this on my own machine.
Try this:

1. Click on the PowerTools red drill icon on your toolbar
2. Select Customize PowerTools > Auto-Close Preferences
3. Highlight the entry for: Welcome, <Screen Name>! and click on the Delete button.

After you do this, exit PowerTools/AOL and let me know if you have the same issue with the wavs.

Might be something I need to have the programmer look into.

As Rocky had mentioned, do you have your Welcome Window on Auto Close, that tends to make the mail sound not work? If you have your Window on Auto Close, that will be whats causing the More Mail sound not to work, so you may want to take that off.

If not, make sure you have the mail sound set up in your wav pro Manager, look at the icons on the bottom right of your screen, click on the one that looks like a little speaker, if you put your cursor over it it will say "Pop-UP Wav Pro Mini Player" then click on the arrow facing up, Click on Wav Pro Manager to open it up, Than you can click on Option, Set up AOL event sounds, then More Mail....and make sure you have a sound set in there. I apologize for all those directions, I know that was a lot of work. Let us know if it still isn't working.

Try taking the Auto Close off the Welcome Window and see if it works then, I know AOL has made some changes and some things are unabe to be coded with, so you can open your Welcome Window and if you don't like seeing it you can minimize it, but when its on minmize you should hear the sound more mail. See if it works the other way. Please let us know what happens :-)

why should i have to take off auto close? it's bogus bps should fix the problem and be done with it and it shouldn't have to be turned off i paid for something and expect it to work right if there's bugs then there should be an update to fix the problems but bps hasn't fixed problems since they brought out 12.0.37. they should of started to fix the problems as soon as they found out instead of letting everyone suffer til they come out with an update from 3 month or more or when ever they feel like fixing it it's true.

Since this isn't a widespread issue it seems relevant to think it might be limited to the configuration of AOL or/and PowerTools.

My sounds work and I have the welcome window set to auto close. Obviously I'm asking these questions to try and isolate the problem so I can send in a bug report.

Instead of trying to belittle our methods it would be most beneficial to indicate whether you are experiencing the issue and if the "temporary fix" solved it for you or not.

I'd like to know... did disabling the auto close of the welcome window fix your issue as well?

I'll submit a bug to the programmer once you let me know if that did indeed solve your problem.

updated for everyone uninstall power tools go to run regedit and delete bps software from registry and uninstall power tools then reinstall power tools and it should work it worked for me now that i did the full uninstall etc.
