The problems I have with lost saved emails/favourite places etc is both when I am just using AOL and also when I load Powertools with AOL

Since the PowerTools installation doesn't modify the AOL files and that the problem occurs whether PowerTools is loaded or not, I have a feeling your AOL mail and favorite data possibly got corrupted (this can happen for many different reasons.) If that's the case and you didn't have a backup of your AOL data (AOL has options to backup and restore both the Personal File Cabinet and Favorites,) I'm not sure it will be possible to recover them
