Buddy History

When I sign on, PT is not always "catching" the entire list of buddies online with the Buddy History feature. Sometimes it gets two out of five names, sometimes it is blank when several buddies are on. The only cure I've found is to close my buddy list and tell PT to popup buddy list. Once it does that, all is well. Once in a while it will show the first two names and then repeat them again along with the whole list of who is on. This is very aggravating as the BH is a feature that is important to me. Any idea what is going on?

Also, when I sign on as a guest (on my own puter) it usually causes AOL to completely lock up and the Windows Task Manager shows my CPU usage to be at 100%. I have to end AOL and PT with the Task Manager, and when I re-open them everything is USUALLY ok, but sometimes have to repeat the whole process. FYI, here's my sysinfo:

Please try this:

Go to Keyword: Filtering and Viewing on AOL. Make certain the following items are NOT checked:

- Show my buddy list in A-Z order
- Use Friendly Names in Buddy List Window

Also, when I sign on as a guest (on my own puter) it usually causes AOL to completely lock up and the Windows Task Manager shows my CPU usage to be at 100%.

This is unlikely to be caused by PowerTools. The AOL revision you are using is pretty outdated. Try going to keyword UPGRADE and download the latest version of AOL 9.0.

The items you mentioned are not checkedin my preferences, and according to AOL I am already using the latest version of the software. Any more ideas?

Right now there is a known issue with the Buddy History List that is being worked on. We are hoping there will be a fix to that soon but it has to do with the way AOL coded something that was new at one time that made the Buddy History not log the correct way anymore, so what you are seeing it normal at this time. And the version of AOL you have right now is ok....but in the future, if you did have an older version of AOL, and you went to install the newest version, it will always tell you you have the newest version if say you were downloading AOL 9 and you had an older version of AOL 9, so in the future ignore that message and continue to download, but right now your version of AOL is ok. Just keep an eye out or a fix to the Buddy List. :-)
