Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I can see everyone else's text just fine, and if I close Power Tools, I can see mine too. But with PT open, I can't see my text. Help...

I bet you've accidently placed yourself on Ignore. While AOL won't let you ignore yourself, PowerTools can block text from anyone (including you).
Click on the red PowerTools drill icon on your toolbar > select Customize PowerTools and choose Ignore List.
Here, check to see if your name is in the "Ignored in Chat" list. If so, click on it, and then click on the "Delete" button.
Let me know if this helps.

I had the same thing happen to me this morning on PTS 12 and AOL 9, and also PTS 10x and AOL 8.0. I did not put myself on ignore by accident either. It happened in both a conference room that AOL created and also in an AIM/AOL room.
Thanks for any feedback.

kneadstoknow:
Did you try to restart your computer to see if that solved your problem?
If it did not, please start your own thread describing the problem and post the BPS System Information Report. (it gets confusing to both the tech and the original author of this post if multiple users try to receive support in one thread).
To post the BPS System Information Report:
1. Click on START > Point to (All) Programs > BPS Software > BPS System Info.
2. Once the utility opens, and the fields fill with text, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button.
3. In your reply message board post, simply right-click > select "Paste".

DivaActually, the original author of this thread was: Sammi435, their post didn't mention the use of ignore. You are looking at the wrong thread, please look at the one you started. Just a friendly reminder, we volunteer here (we do this for free..) during our own personal time. Your outburst of hostility was completely unnecessary and unwarranted because you are in the wrong thread. Your post can be found here: bpssoft.proboards12.com/index.cgi?board=ptchat&action=display&thread=1168396563
