Each time I enter a chat, in order to use chat preferences of show members entering and leaving, I have to click the preference, change it, then sign off, then sign back on to make that preference work. How can I save the choice?

The Chat Preferences should be saved automatically after you made and confirmed your selections.
Could you please post your BPS System Information following the steps below:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button.
2. Click your mouse on "All Programs" to get a list of all installed programs on your system.
3. Click your mouse on the "BPS SoftWare" program group.
4. Click on "BPS System Info" and wait for the window to load completely.
5. Once fully loaded, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button on the "BPS System Info" window (nothing will happen visibly -- please do not copy anything else to the Windows Clipboard until finished.)
6. Click the "Reply" button in this thread, right click in the message body, and then select "Paste" from the menu. This will paste your complete system info in your post.
7. Click the "Post Message" button.

When I enter chat, members entering and members leaving do not work. I click on PT icon and uncheck the 2 preferences. Then I click the icon again, and reclick the 2 desired preferences. Then I exit chat, sign off AOL, then sign back on and the 2 preferences are working. I do this each day.

That is the correct method. Try these steps and let me know the outcome: Exit PowerTools. Click on START > Select RUN Type in REGEDiT and hit Enter. Double click on the following folders: - HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Software
- BPS SoftWare
- PowerTools 12
- RichChat Panes
Once you double-click on the RichChat Panes, if the values for "Members Entering List" and "Members Leaving List" say No, double-click on each and change the Value Data to say "Yes". Close the Registry Editor. Launch PowerTools and test to see if this setting is now permanent.

I COULD NOT FIND THE HKEY_CURRENT_USER file.
I also did a search and found no such file.

When you open Registry Editor, make certain "My Computer" has a negative sign instead of a plus sign.
You should see the missing key now.

But it said yes.
So I changed it to no, and then back to yes.
I opened PT, went into chat, it still doesnt work!

Go back to the same location: Exit PowerTools. Click on START > Select RUN Type in REGEDiT and hit Enter. Double click on the following folders:
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER * Software * BPS SoftWare * PowerTools 12 * RichChat Panes
Now, right-click on RichChat Panes and select Delete. Launch PowerTools and try to set your settings the correct way.

PowerTools writes the data to the Windows Registry (which you saw at REGEDiT). The registry cannot be stored as "Read Only" which means programms aren't allowed to make changes.
Something on your system must be preventing PowerTools from making changes.
What is this program: clclean.0001 ?
It's listed as a running process on your machine.
Do you have an antivirus program on your computer? Which one? Can you update the virus signature files?
Do you have a spyware program on your computer? Which one? Can you update the spyware signature files?

Rocky I have AVG anti virus, and do not know how to update signature file.
I have both AOL and WINDOWS DEFENDER spyware, and do not know how to update signatures.

Thanks for the extra information. I found a site that had more detailed information on what this was: forums.myispfinder.org/showthread.php?t=42843Could you please post another BPS System Information Report -- I want to see if any new error messages have appeared and I also want to double-check the list of programs that are set to load with Windows.
