I had no idea my computer had a virus - my antivirus software didn't catch it! How would that virus get on my computer - from emails? I will definitely look into the info you sent and take care of it. In the meantime, I noticed Watch Right is not logging internet sessions - would the virus have something to do with that?
Thanks again for your help Rocky!

Update to my last post.
I downloaded the Trojan Remover and performed a scan on my computer. It did not find the file lock1.exe. Below are two separate excerpts I copied from the log file:
Scanning for Rootkit Services No hidden Services were detected
Checking HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices This Registry Key attempts to run the following program(s): Value Name = strtas Value Date = lock1.exe – this command has been left in place [file not found to scan]
Do you have further recommendations?

In the meantime, I noticed Watch Right is not logging internet sessions - would the virus have something to do with that? Yes, virus ans spyware can definitely prevent any program (Watch Right included) from functioning properly. Did you update the Trojan Remover's virus database prior to scanning? Perhaps try another antivirus program.

Yes, I did update Trojan Remover's virus database prior to scanning. Do you mean try another virus remover versus antivirus program? I currently use Norton's AV program.

Do you mean try another virus remover versus antivirus program? I currently use Norton's AV program. Yes, some antivirus programs can't find certain virus, while others can. Do a Google search for the words strtas lock1.exe and W32/Sdbot-ADQ to find more information on how to remove this particular virus.

I always thought Norton was a reliable anit-virus program. I've used it for years. I went to Symantec's website and performed an online system scan of viruses and it did not detect the virus in question. However, it detected many adware threats.
I downloaded another virus removal program and Norton instantly tagged it as viral! Not sure what to think.
I have a question concerning Watch Right. I noticed there is a screen name "Triton IM" being montiored and it's logging conversations my children have. The problem is, that is not their screen name and I know there haven't been any guests signed on. Do you know what that may be?

I noticed the "AIM Triton" appear once on my Watch Right logging as well. I believe it's a glitch within Watch Right -- but I am unable to duplicate it since it only happned once. Did your antiviral scans locate and remove that virus? If not, try these: www.activevirusshield.com < Free AOL Antivirus program housecall.trendmicro.com/ < Free online virus scan

I have been in touch with Microsoft and they had me run an online scan using Spybot. We were able to delete the file in the Startup using BHO in the Tools menu, but the file was not detected/deleted during the scan. I am waiting on Microsoft for more instruction.
In the meantime, Watch Right still isn't logging all conversations. It hasn't logged any chats or IE browser sessions since I downloaded the latest version.
I am submitting another system report to see if there's something else I need to do.
Thanks for your help Rocky.

First disable these unnecessary programs from loading with Windows. This will help your system resources greatly.
Click on START > Run > Type in MSCONFiG and hit Enter. Click over to the Startup tab and remove the checks next to the following items:
iTunesHelper QuickTime Task HostManager IPHSend WordWeb
Once you've removed the checkmark, click on Apply > OK > at the prompt to restart, click on "No".
Next launch Watch Right and enter your password. Now reset Watch Right one more time (Click on Options > Reset Watch Right). Restart your computer.
Any change?

Rocky - I disabled the programs you recommended but there was no change - still not logging all IM's nor any browser sessions. Also, I found that the program, lock1.exe, was in the startup list, however, it was not in the report I sent you. I disabled it in the startup programs. I'm concerned because when I ran the Spybot program, I was able to delete it from the startup programs but obviously, it was not deleted.
I am sending you another system report. Please let me know what else I can do.
Thank you.

I'm concerned because when I ran the Spybot program, I was able to delete it from the startup programs but obviously, it was not deleted. If this virus ("lock1.exe" is added by the W32/Sdbot-ADQ worm) has not been completely removed from your system, it is very likely the cause for Watch Right not monitoring properly. Have you restarted your system since your removal attempt, and is the virus still being detected by SpyBot, or still listed in the startup programs? You may want to try another antivirus program to remove this particular virus. Some programs just don't recognize certain viruses, or have difficulties removing them. Try to do a Google search for both lock1.exe and W32/Sdbot-ADQ to find an antivirus/antispyware program that would be able to remove this virus I took a quick look and found the Sophos Antivirus (has a 30-day trial period) lists this virus in their database -- but there are probably others too.

It's been awhile since I've been able to get back to this, but I wanted to let you know I haven't downloaded any new virus programs. I checked into Sophos but I would have to uninstall my current Norton and I've been told it's hard to remove Norton and reinstall it. Anyway, I'm not sure if I still have the virus but it seems the lock1.exe program is no longer in my startup list. However, not all IM conversations are being logged and there haven't been any internet sessions logged since I installed the new version of Watch Right. I'm sending the system info report to see if you can detect anything else that may be causing monitoring problems.
I appreciate all your help!
