it doesn't say it is recognizing it as a virus however..i do scans every day and it does not appear...i have had both aol and wr since 2002 and did not have this problem..it does not make much sense to me... i still have the question of the aim not logging at alll.....what is up with this..the websites and emails do log most of the time but nothing for the aim...?? so unless you can help me with this Rocky...i guess all you two companies can suggest is to get rid of the other company or just totally disable the aol anti-virus...

I guess if I don't get a solution in a few days I will ask about getting some other programs such as [names of competitors' programs removed] to monitor my child's activities expecially the IM and AIM...

Frankly, Joan, posting the names of our competitors' programs in our message board to vent your frustration isn't such a good idea... Rocky already went way beyond the call of duty by installing another non-BPS program on his own computer (AOL Safety & Security) in order to try and help you with it. He did not have to do this at all. You're of course free to try other programs if you want, but please don't post about them here. i have had both aol and wr since 2002 and did not have this problem..it does not make much sense to me... Actually, it makes perfect sense. First, the AOL software you installed in 2002 has changed much in the 4 years that have elapsed since. Also, antivirus programs update their virus definitions constantly, adding new files to their virus/spyware database on a regular basis. It just so happens that the AOL antivirus, which does not use a very elaborate routine to identify threats, has now falsly added Watch Right to their database. The fact is that the AOL antivirus is identifying Watch Right as spyware and blocking it, even though Watch Right is NOT a spyware program. Most antivirus and antispyware programs allow the end-user to specify any programs they wish to allow, so as to avoid this type of problems. If this is not an option with the AOL antivirus, surely you can see there is nothing we can do about it -- we cannot modify the AOL software so it no longer misidentifies Watch Right -- only AOL can do that, or advise you about how to use it. All we can do at this point is suggest that you at least try uninstalling the AOL antivirus completely, reinstall Watch Right again, and then see if it fixes the problem you're experiencing with Watch Right. Failing that, you should contact AOL technical support and ask them how to allow or ignore a legitimate program with their own antivirus.

Frankly Carole,,
I didn't appreciate your deleting the names of your competition. If your company was the best then it wouldn't hurt for the users to know what the competition is. The whole point of the message postings should be so that others who are experiencing the same probems can see the solutions mentioned and if there are other places to get the same service. I have read others who said they too have paid for something that does not seem to work right. I imagine I am not the only person who is experiencing this problem and not getting a direct answer to the specific question about the IM not logging.
You keep saying to delete or stop the anti-virus...as I said before I have done that and it STILL DOES NOT LOG THE AIM AND IM that is happening. This is not due to the anti-virus stopping me from opening the program as I can get in and see that they are not there...
Yes I am frustrated and if you had taken a MONTH of going back and forth on these logs and still not have an answer you would be frustrated too. It is the job of the technicians to help us fix problems and Rocky was doing his best and being cordial at that. I have sent the responses to AOL in an effort to get them to understand their part of the problem. What I have asked them to do is not what I was asking of your company. I have already done all of the things you said. And the 2002 date was for the use of Watch Right. I have had AOL for much longer but have a brand new installation and update. My comment was that the two had always worked together and that I had no problems monitoring the IMs.

I was quite upset last night but did manage to figure out what AOL could not. I have solved their end of the problem and the AOL anti-virus is not on my computer anymore. I still do not have the IM and AIM logging.

Joan, We will be releasing a new version of Watch Right soon that will fix a compatibility issue with the latest version of Triton (1.3). Would you be willing to install this version on your computer (once it becomes available) along with Triton 1.3 to see if it cures your problem?
On a side note, I don't want you to be without any Antivirus protection on your system. I use, and recommend, AVG Free. It's very accurate and has regular updates (generally an update everyday). It works great along with our software programs and is not very resource intensive on your system. You can search google for AVG Free if you're insterested.

Rocky, Thanks for the info. I do have another anti-virus installed ...I did it the day before yesterday as I didn't want to be without an anti-virus program either. Thanks for the offer. As for the new Watch Right....when will it be out?? Remember altho this is titled "AIM triton" ..I changed over to the regular old version of AIM. Let me know and then I can decide if I want to hold on that long with no AIM coverage. I am going to try one other thing this week and see if that helps. It is about all I can do altho it still makes little sense to me that the two worked together so well for years and now it doesn't...I did manage to get some AIM reports from my screen name but not my childs...so that didn't help much.

We are alpha (internal) testing the new Watch Right now. I did run into a problem with this new build, which will hopefully be corrected quickly and available for everyone to download soon.

I did try the other thing and still NO AIM coverage. It appears that like many others I will soon see what the new and improved Watch Right has to offer and then decide whether to check out other programs. I want to have the monitoring I used to have.

I seem to be forgotten here...I downloaded the new WR and nothing has changed...no IM or AIM coverage and misses some of the other parts as well. But definitely NOT getting the conversations logged!!!

Joan, could you try one more time to Reset Watch Right (Options > Reset Watch Right), Reboot, then test the logging features.
If you still have problems, and only AFTER you've tried resetting Watch Right, email me the following at BPSRocky@aol.com:
Your Name Your Phone Number Best time to call
The programmer will contact you and work directly with you to resolve your logging problem.

Rocky, Is this the only option? I will loose everything I have saved on the logs and have to change my password....I hate to do that and then have it not work anyways...
